Mike was previously a member of the HVT Board of Directors and was instrumental in the conception of what later became The Overstrand Learning Hub. Since the registration of The Overstrand Learning Hub NPC (Non-profit company), he has served as one of three directors of the board where his main focus remains that of governance, business support and strategic advice.
What this means is that based on his experience in the area of corporate governance in business and volunteer organisations, Mike is well placed to ensure that the fundamental basis of the OLH business model remains professional, which in turn creates space for sustaining the critical talent and innovation embodied in the roles played by Dr Nici Rousseau, Willem Lotter, and the tutors.
Together they manage the complex balance between delivering quality learner support in the short term, along with the longer-term outcome of ensuring that each student who passes through OLH on their path to becoming a teacher is equipped to play their role as a change agent in the Overstrand.
